Perla Mayo received the BSc. in Computer Systems Engineering from the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes (Mexico) on 2013. After two years working as Software Developer she enrolled at the University of Bristol and received after conclusion the MSc. in Biomedical Engineering, the thesis consisted of a study of MRI pulse sequence variations impact on statistical analysis for epilepsy detection using Anatomical Toolboxes for pre-processing and model design.
Currently performing the role of PhD student at the University of Bristol under the supervision of Alin M. Achim and Robin Holmes. The research project focuses on the usage of Deep Learning techniques to develop a novel algorithm able to classify, localise and detect epileptogenic zones in MRI scans. The topics of interests are focused on Deep Learning and Neuroimaging.
